The Bridge of Esbareich

This elegant, impressive bridge was constructed in 1870 [towards the end of the reign of Napoleon III].  The bridge stands 25 metres above the Ourse de Sost river.  It replaced an earlier wooden bridge which was completely destroyed by floods.

Horse-riding

There are several horse-riding centres within easy reach of the Gite, centres that cater for all ages and competence levels - from donkey rides for the little ones to challenging mountain hacks.

Pyrenees Mountains

In the magnificent mountain countryside there are numerous well-marked rambles, again, like the horse-riding, that vary greatly in their degree of challenge.  But whatever their level, all provide a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the mountain air, the wonderful views and nature at its best throughout the year.

The Chasm of Saoule

Near to the delightful village of Mauleon Barousse lies the waterfall that cascades down a natural arch formed by the erosion by water of the limestone rock.
